What a lovely read! I’ve also struggled with letting go of control and embracing the rhythms over routine, especially in motherhood. I’ve noticed that whenever I have moments of overwhelm, it’s usually tied to something that I trying to hold on to. It truly is freeing isn’t it?

It’s so freeing! Trying to let go more and more and more when it feels right – I’m so imperfect at it, but getting a little better each day :)

Loved reading this! I always feel inspired seeing/reading your work. I too have been embracing the idea of rhythms over routines this year as I’m also in a season of unknowns, but developing rhythms feels somehow freeing…? There is so much possibility when we allow ourselves to flow with the ever-changing rhythms of life! Excited to connect with you over on Instagram too! It seems we have a lot of shared interests. :) xo

Abby! Thanks so much for your note, I'm excited that we've connected, too :) The perfectionist in me feels "safe" and comfortable within the confines of routines, but my true self thrives in rhythms that ebbs and flow with my days. It's been so freeing to finally go with the flow, but also more challenging than I was expecting. I'm looking forward to getting to know you more!

I absolutely relate to this! Especially surrendering to our babies sleep schedule. I find that the more I let go, the more it actually works out. Just different than what I had pictured in my head :)

“The more I let go, the more it actually works out” – yes, exactly this! Schedules and routines are great, but the rigidity can get in the way of so much beautiful serendipity. Thank you for reading ❤️

Really like the idea or rhythms over routines. It nods to an ebb and flow rather than the rigidity we've been told to stick to.

Absolutely! It’s really helped me move away from my perfectionistic tendencies by reframing in that way :)
