I have rarely felt so seen by an essay. Thank you, thank you for sharing your honest words. I didn't know there was a word for us women who aren't comfortable with the finality of either motherhood or child-free living. I'm so thankful you gave yourself the margin you needed to discern what's best for you. I'm trying to do the same. It's been hard to not have friends who know this similar ache, but I'm thankful I'm not alone. 💜
I feel so grateful that these words found you and helped you feel seen, Kayla – you truly aren’t alone. How you described it, an “ache,” is the exact word I’d been searching for for so long to describe the journey toward making the decision to pursue motherhood. You will find your answer and decision in due time. Here for you always 🤍
I teared up at "Hi Margot." I really hits home! I had a similar journey of not being ready for motherhood then, kind of suddenly knowing. Excited to follow along on your journey 🤍
Oh Lindsay, so many things to say. One I love your writing, it’s so moving. Secondly, when I read “hi, Margot” I started crying. I can feel both versions of you before and after motherhood in this, of course due to being written over a span of time. But more than that I can say both versions hold so much space and “accomplishment”. So so beautifully written, thank you for sharing this piece.
And now here I am, crying again! ...the good kind of cry, but still 😌 Thank you so much for reading and for your sincere words, Nichole – I appreciate and feel them so deeply. There truly are two versions of me who wrote this, and I honor them both. I'm just so grateful that I didn't allow fear of the unknown to hold me back from meeting little Margot.
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement – it means the world. Motherhood is beautiful, messy and wild and I'm so grateful for it all. So lovely to connect with you, Ingrid 🤍
What a beautiful essay 🙏❤️The intentionality of your path towards motherhood touches me and resonates deeply with my own path. What a beautiful gift to your daughter. I look forward to reading more about your journey of a slow embodied life. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from Sweden

Thank you so much for reading, Claire – I still tear up a bit saying those little words to her each morning. I’m so glad that you’re here!
This is so beautifully written!
Thank you so much, Amanda!

Hi Margot! This is so gorgeous and so is Margot (and so are you). An and I are grateful for that Goodwill and can’t wait to visit it with you 🥰.
Thank you, friend! And YES – I can't wait to share the Goodwill with you where it all happened soon 🥰
Beautiful post Lindsay! And the way you finished it with “Hi Margot” was so sweet.
Thank you so much, Caitlynn! It felt so cathartic and joyful to share all at once. I feel lucky to be on the other side of things :)
